The BestVox LS3/6 is a three-way bass reflex monitor built to the BBC LS3/6 design. It uses a 210 mm woofer, a 25 mm dome tweeter and a 20 mm super tweeter, and reaches down to 42 Hz (±3 dB). Price is for a pair of speakers.
Where the LS3/6 comes from
The LS3/6 grew out of the BC1: the BBC took that design and made its own studio monitor version. Several manufacturers have built it since. Each BestVox LS3/6 is made and tested by hand.
How it sounds
It has the classic BBC sound: warm but accurate, with a clear, detailed midrange and good layering. Voices, piano and strings are its strengths, and it is especially good with chamber music.
It also handles large-scale and dynamic music well, with clear imaging of voices and instruments.

- LS3/6: three-way with a super tweeter, 210 mm woofer, 630 mm tall, 42 Hz–20 kHz, 88.5 dB.
- LS5/9: two-way, 210 mm woofer, 460 mm tall, 50 Hz–20 kHz, 87 dB. Smaller, with adjustable treble.
- LS3/5A: two-way, sealed, 305 mm tall, 70 Hz–20 kHz. For small rooms.

How is the LS3/6 different from the LS5/9?
The LS3/6 is a three-way speaker: it adds a 20 mm super tweeter. It is taller (630 mm against 460 mm), heavier (17.5 kg against 14 kg each) and goes deeper, to 42 Hz rather than 50 Hz.
