The BestVox M7 is a two-way bookshelf monitor with a 170 mm (6.5") woofer, a 25 mm tweeter and a BBC-style thin-panel cabinet. It measures 220 × 395 × 285 mm (W × H × D). Price is for a pair of speakers.
Drivers
- Woofer: 170 mm polymer cone in a cast magnesium-aluminium basket, with an efficient magnet. It gives controlled, full bass with low distortion.
- Tweeter: 25 mm tweeter with a dual-layer magnet and magnetic-fluid cooling, for smooth treble that doesn't tire you.
- Crossover: a new design built from matched components, so the two drivers blend into one focused image.
Cabinet
The thin panels are allowed to resonate in a controlled way, as in BBC monitor design. Two layers of internal damping keep that resonance out of the midrange and treble. The result is a warm, natural midrange that suits voices and acoustic instruments.
Real-wood veneer is matched inside and out to balance the panels. The grille is magnetic.
How it sounds
Warm, smooth and detailed. The bass is full but well defined, vocals sound natural and strings keep their texture.
Amplifier and room size
The M7 is an 8 Ω speaker with 86 dB sensitivity (2.83 V / 1 m) and 60 W power handling. The 170 mm woofer reaches down to 52 Hz, so it fills a medium-sized room more easily than the smaller M5.
M7, M5, M9 or LS5/9?
- M7: 170 mm woofer, 25 mm tweeter, 8 Ω, 86 dB, 52 Hz–22 kHz.
- M5: 110 mm mid/bass, 25 mm tweeter, 70 Hz–22 kHz. Smaller, inspired by the LS3/5A.
- M9: 200 mm mid/bass, 25 mm ferrofluid-cooled tweeter, 8 Ω, 87 dB, 45 Hz–22 kHz. Larger, with deeper bass.
- LS5/9: built to the BBC LS5/9 design, with a 210 mm woofer and bass reflex cabinet.

Is the price for one speaker or a pair?

Should I choose the M7 or the M5?
The M5 suits small rooms and close listening. The M7 has a bigger woofer, deeper bass (52 Hz against 70 Hz) and higher sensitivity (86 dB against 83.5 dB), so it is the better choice for a medium room or a lower-powered amplifier.
Do you make stands for the M7?
Yes. The No. M74 is made for the M7. Its 220 × 285 mm (8.7" × 11.2") top plate matches the speaker's footprint, and the standard height is 650 mm (25.6"), or we can make a custom height. Buy the stands and the M7 together and $230 comes off at checkout.
